For a song that is just a little over two minutes, Holiday Oscar’s White & Gold is a song that I found myself repeating over and over so that in a short time it becomes an anthem to an afternoon – I envision this idyllic solitary escape while listening to ‘White & Gold’.
I have this vision of myself strolling through my neighborhood appreciating the sounds and scenes of normal everyday activity. It’s a song that I would listen to while it’s raining outside and holding a mugful of something warm. It’s the type of song that some large corporation could end up using to advertise a new phone.
Which is what’s kind of amazing about this little demo of a song, it’s that for something that may change, in length or style, it has the ability to evoke all these ideas and feelings of wistfulness. It’s a two-minute song that has the ability to make one feel, think, and imagine big. And if Holiday Oscar can do that in a demo, I can’t wait to see what’s next for the UK based singer.
